「臉書」（Facebook）今早宣布即日起新聞發布平台「即時文章」（Instant Articles），全面在iPhone上線，安卓版本預計在年底前推出。對包含紐約時報、國家地裡新聞等多間新聞公司而言，這是最新且最快能讓手機用戶接收到相關訊息的方式。
據《CNN》報導，下載該App的iPhone用戶在進入臉書之後，點擊動態消息的右上角上看到閃電標誌，可立刻閱讀想要看的文章，相較於一般方式，載入的速度可以快上10倍，且具備放大、影片自動播放、互動地圖或評論等功能，提供了美觀與互動效果。臉書產品長柯克斯（Chris Cox）在出席「華爾街日報DLive」（WSJDLive）科技研討會時表示，「很開心能讓這個計畫運作」。
臉書表示會保留及平分和新聞媒體合作的廣告收入，出版商也能夠從中得到用戶點閱率的數據，最重要的是能夠直接在臉書上推廣他們的品牌內容。有些知名的新聞媒體出版商懷疑這樣子的裝置反而會讓他們失去內容發布的決定權，影響到他們的收益多寡，拒絕加入這樣的測試。
目前包括《紐約時報》、《國家地理新聞》（National Geographic）、《BuzzFeed》、《國家廣播公司新聞網》（NBC News）、《亞特蘭大雜誌》（The Atlantic）、英國《衛報》（The Guardian）、《英國廣播公司》（BBC）、德國《明鏡周刊》（Spiegel）和《畫報》（Bild）等9間新聞媒體，都已經確定能夠在「即時文章」上看到他們所發佈的文章了，之後其他如《每日郵報》（Daily Mail）、《菁英日報》（Elite Daily）、《時代雜誌》（Time Inc）等，有可能會跟著加入。
