Olivia Newton-John 掛名位於澳洲Melbourne的癌症醫療中心Olivia Newton-John cancer and wellness centre（ONJCWC）於6月22日舉辦了盛大的開幕典禮，第一位病患將於7月2日進入該中心，這個世界水準的癌症中心，建於1982年即開辦的Austin Hospital醫院中，它除提供癌症醫療外，也對病患做心智與精神等方面的輔導。長期關注環保與動物保護議題的 Olivia Newton-John，1992年得乳癌但康復後對慈善事業亦開始關心出力。
在流行歌壇Olivia Newton-John是歷年暢銷歌星排行榜第33名的巨星，1948年出生於英國Cambridge，但於澳洲Melbourne長大，祖父是諾貝爾獎得主，德國物理學家Max Born，Olivia 16歲時因贏得一項才藝競賽而返回英國，自此踏入歌唱與電影圈，她的歌路近鄉村流行歌曲，自1971年的If Not For You開始直到1985年都不斷有暢銷曲進入排行榜前40名，1978年她與John Travolta一同演出的電影Grease「火爆浪子」與接著的Xanadu「仙納度的狂熱」更使她的事業達到巔峰。
除了歌星、影星頭銜之外，Olivia Newton-John還有企業家的身份，她1984年開創的服裝連鎖事業（Koala Blue）也相當成功。
Olivia Newton-John一共得過四座Grammy獎，有五首歌獲得過排行榜冠軍，其中1981年獲10週冠軍的Physical是成績最好的歌。
2010年Billboard雜誌曾有一項為情人節特別做的調查統計，Physical這首歌列名歷年流行歌曲的歌詞內容與「性」最相關的歌第一名，當年新歌推廣時有二家猶他州的電台曾因這首歌的歌詞具挑逗性而禁播這首歌，後來唱片公司特別拍了以Olivia Newton-John綁頭帶跳有氧舞蹈的音樂影帶去宣傳，以轉移這首歌的性話題，現在回想起來策略是很成功的。
