經典樂團Orleans主唱 Larry Hoppen去世

1970年代中期走紅的搖滾樂團Orleans的吉他手與主唱Larry Hoppen，七月24日不幸在佛羅里達州中部的家中去世（61歲），出生於長島的的Larry後來住在紐約Ithica,，並且自Ithica學院畢業，他和Wells Kelly原先在一個叫Boffalongo的樂團認識，後來應John Hall之邀一起到紐約的Woodstock組成了Orleans合唱團。

經過一翻努力之後1975年Orleans終於以第三張專輯中的Let There Be Music開始讓歌迷們認識，接著的Dance With Me和Still The One更都進入排行榜前十名，

1977年Orleans的要角John Hall離團而去，Larry Hoppen則與他的弟弟Lance繼續撐住Orleans合唱團，他們在1977年還有一首獲得第11名的暢銷曲Love Takes Time，之後則持續巡迴演唱。

順便一提的是Orleans合唱團的創團元老John Hall當年離開Orleans除了去從事個人的歌唱事業外，也參加反核活動，沒想到他於2006年在紐約當選聯邦眾議員，但於2010年底落選。

Orleans在排行榜上名次最好的歌是1976年曾獲得第5名的歌Still The One，2004年美國總統大選時John Hall曾指控小布希未獲許可使用那首歌，使得小布希的競選總部不得不撤銷那首歌的使用，沒想到2008年John Hall又指控John McCain的競選團隊也未獲許可去使用那首歌。
