英國物理學家史蒂芬霍金（Stephen Hawking）14日離開人世。綜合外媒報導，他的畢生貢獻令人稱頌，且走過漸凍症難關，求生精神令人為之動容，而他不乏英式幽默且蘊含高智慧的名言，絲毫不比學術成就遜色。
1.「記得仰望星空，別老是俯視腳步，試著為你眼前的事物尋找意義，驚嘆這宇宙如何形成。請記著要保持好奇心。無論生命歷程有多艱難，你也有機會有所成就，重點是不要放棄。」
"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up."
2.「在我 21 歲時，我的期望值變成了零。自那以後，一切都是賺到的。」
"My expectations were reduced to zero when I was 21. Everything since then has been a bonus."

"Einstein was wrong when he said "God does not play dice". Consideration of black holes suggests, not only that God does play dice, but that He sometimes confuses us by throwing them where they can't be seen."
