San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair)這首名曲的演唱者Scott McKenzie 8月18日於洛杉磯去世了（73歲），Scott因胃痛已住院一段時間，但何時病況轉嚴重並未透露。

Scott McKenzie原名Phil Blondheim 1939年出生於美國佛羅里達州 Jacksonville，後來她們家搬到維吉尼亞州的時候，Scott認識了John Phillips而且變成好朋友，他倆曾以the Smoothies之名一起灌過唱片，並且一直在the Journeymen合唱團唱民歌，1960年代中期當民歌風潮退燒後John Phillips組了著名的the Mamas & the Papas合唱團，Scott McKenzie則從事個人的演唱事業，John先送給Scott一首原來準備當1967年Monterey Pop Festival音樂節主題歌的San Francisco，結果成了排行榜第4名的暢銷曲，後來還有一首Like An Old Time Movie則得到第24名。
Scott McKenzie 1988年曾與John, Mike Love 及製作人Terry Melcher一同寫了電影雞尾酒的插曲 Kokomo ，那是一首排行榜冠軍曲，直到2010年因病住院。
