San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair)這首名曲的演唱者Scott McKenzie 8月18日於洛杉磯去世了(73歲),Scott因胃痛已住院一段時間,但何時病況轉嚴重並未透露。

Scott McKenzie原名Phil Blondheim 1939年出生於美國佛羅里達州 Jacksonville,後來她們家搬到維吉尼亞州的時候,Scott認識了John Phillips而且變成好朋友,他倆曾以the Smoothies之名一起灌過唱片,並且一直在the Journeymen合唱團唱民歌,1960年代中期當民歌風潮退燒後John Phillips組了著名的the Mamas & the Papas合唱團,Scott McKenzie則從事個人的演唱事業,John先送給Scott一首原來準備當1967年Monterey Pop Festival音樂節主題歌的San Francisco,結果成了排行榜第4名的暢銷曲,後來還有一首Like An Old Time Movie則得到第24名。
Scott McKenzie 1988年曾與John, Mike Love 及製作人Terry Melcher一同寫了電影雞尾酒的插曲 Kokomo ,那是一首排行榜冠軍曲,直到2010年因病住院。
